Manhattan's growth and increase in Kansas State students led Capitol Federal to open a full-service branch at the southwest corner of Seth Child Road and Southwinds Drive. The new branch offered Manhattan customers the choice of two locations for conducting business. During its November grand opening, the Chamber President congratulated the Bank on a "first class development" and on expressing its faith and belief in the growth of Manhattan.
