Wow, these reviews are justifiably brutal. This bank makes Spirit Airlines look like a pillar of morality and success. I just got off the phone with supervisor Shardai. After learning that a merchant against whom I filed I dispute fraudulently charged me a second time forcing my card to be cancelled and a new one issued, the Capital One representative, Chris, urged me to speak with supervisor Ms. Shardai (Operator Number GAW365) since I brought up so many valid points - including that fraudulent inducement renders a contract... read more
Capital One is liable for not closing accounts one directed by customers. I paid off my balance completely and requested to closer. 6 months later I received a bill. Boycott them completely.
I've had a very negative experience with Capital One's Venture X card. The first indication of questionable judgment was Capital One's revision of its Priority Pass terms. The next was the way it handled a dispute I filed against a unscrupulous merchant. Nothing about the process was appropriate from the communications with Capital One agents to the handling of the dispute itself. I agree with the other posters re Cap One credit cards. I am a long term customer who has always been pleased with the bank & used my credit card for everything. At the end of April, my card was hacked & nearly $5,000 was charged to 4 sites for fishing gear. I notified Cap One immediately, & 3 of the charges were dropped. The 4th site was smart enough to send an overnight delivery, which I did not send back, and used this as the proof I had made the charge. I am out $1,200+ because of Cap One’s “policies”.
