I saw the CCT production of Rent at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, Wi and was blown away!! I have seen 2 of the traveling broadway shows and they were as good as those productions. The addition of live music added so much to the show. Jonathon Larson was a creative genius and the words and emotions continue to be relevant and if you have any desire to see the show you should see this production. No day but today!! Thank you to all of the cast, musicians, directors and choreographers for an amazing emotional experience!!
Had an incredibly unwelcoming experience auditioning here. The artistic leadership, particularly Andrew, carries an air of disdain and arrogance that is discouraging for local performers. Despite this being a community-focused theater, there was zero follow-up or basic professional courtesy after the audition. Also, the space is surprisingly difficult to access via public transport, which adds another barrier for those wanting to participate. Not the supportive environment I expected.

In a time when the arts are being threatened financially, Capital City emerges as Madison's champion of high quality production and commitment to artistic freedom. Broadway quality theatre at affordable prices. With a commitment to excellence, Capital City Theatre stands alone in a quest to bring forth high quality musical theatre to everyone. If you're lucky enough to get a ticket to one of their shows, you will be impressed and joyful!
Loved the play. So well done with 2 talented actors, one extremely so. The only complaint I had was the seating wasn't very comfortable.
