Cape May Lumber was founded in 1946, just after the close of World War II by Les Carr and Les Accardi. At the time, there were three other lumber yards on the island! Since its founding in 1946, Cape May Lumber's Charter stated that "We will keep better/higher quality lumber because we recognize that people will choose better value over price."
