We were not sure where we wanted to go for dinner. My husband said lets look in Odessa to see if there is anything there. We stumbled upon this tavern and oh my we had the best meal. We will certainly go back!!
In Real Estate, it's "Location, Location, Location!" At Cantwell's Tavern, it's "Atmosphere, Atmosphere, Atmosphere!" The 1822 Hotel is an architectural gem! Also, the food just so happens to be quite excellent! Being an historic preservationist, I think it was a superb example of the adaptive reuse of an historic property. All in all, I highly recommend it!
The service was excellent.Great bloody Mary bar. I had the Eggs Chesapeake, which is crabcake benedict. Absolutely delicious! Then I shared an order of cinnamon rolls. Gooey and delicious! You could see the vanilla bean specks in the icing! Wish I lived closer, I'd be a regular!
Extremely loud and staff makes no attempt to take into consideration other patrons. The food was just ok but nothing spectacular. The building was beautiful and full of character. Maybe if they controlled the children from screaming and held parents more accountable it might have been a better experience.
