I opened an account with National Bank of Canada recently, and the experience has been nothing but disappointing. After being told I had to wait 2 days before using e-transfer, I tried adding a recipient only to be blocked because I “must” enter debit card details—even though the debit card hasn’t even arrived yet. Calling customer service was even worse. 20+ years with CWB, and this transition was the breaking point I’ve been a CWB customer for over 20 years, and the shift to National Bank has been extremely disappointing. Long wait times, and no real support during the transition. My accounts were frozen after the migration, and no one seemed able to help or provide clear answers. This experience has completely eroded my trust. I won’t recommend National Bank or their services to anyone going forward.
