I was migrated from CWB to this unbelievable unprofessional bank!! I am extremely disappointed with the process of closing my accounts at National Bank of Canada. First, I submitted a request via email after logging into my online account. I received a response 7 days later saying I needed to call customer service. After waiting 45 minutes on the phone, I was told I must visit a physical branch in person—over 150 kilometers away. This entire ordeal has been absurdly inconvenient and, frankly, unacceptable. Terrible. Huge bank that is completely empty with only 1 teller. Making this review standing in line. The 1 teller working seems to have no idea what she's doing.
When I went in a year ago they were friendly and helpful. Now they won’t answer the phone, ever. I’ve left 3 messages over 3 days. I have a time sensitive matter and I am truly disappointed. I sure hope they return my call soon. If not I guess I’ll just have to figure out a way down to the office. This is not how you do business.
It all depends which branch you deal with. Sherwood Park branch was excellent but others have a ways to go.
