I was a Ranger here when It was a Boy Scout Campground
Camp Pollock is an incredible spot to escape the noise of the city without actually leaving it. They even have beautiful peacocks all over the campgrounds… It’s wonderfully peaceful and such a grounding place to take a long walk right by the American River. I love bringing my dog here, the trails are great, the open spaces are well-maintained, and everyone is super respectful of the area. Hidden gem. River access isn't great but the trails and gardens are. Lots of cool birds too
