Update 8 Sep 2026 The wedding happened and went off without a hitch. Due in no small part to Peter and the staff at Camp Michigania. The grounds are beautiful, the facilities are extremely well cared for, and the dining hall staff (with Jeff at the helm) have a firm handle on the quality of service and offerings. The local vendors integrated easily into the whole affair as well, making the whole experience wonderful and considerably less stressful. This was my first visit, loved it!
Wonderful experience for all ages. Great opportunity to try horseback riding and high ropes!
I went to Camp Michigania for the Bear River Writers Conference. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and diligent, particularly the dining hall staff. I was surprised by the quality and variety of the food served there. The grounds are beautiful and though I spent most of my time in writing workshops and attending readings, I could tell that there were plenty of other activities in and around Lake Walloon.
