My review is based on my experience there back in 1973. I went for two 1-week junior camps in June and again in July that summer. I had the time of my life! I can't believe how much it's changed. We didn't have nice buildings or beds. Everything was VERY rustic, but wonderful. My favorite memories were of the horseback riding, canoeing, and arts & crafts. Of course Kulaqua was spelled with a "Q" at the beginning back then 😄.Â
I was very excited to finally be able to send my son to camp there as he was the third generation to go. I dropped him off a very excited and happy child. The child I picked up however was feverish, actively symptomatic with pink eye, had an ear and upper respiratory infection and an infected cut on his hip. He was in desperate need of a doctor and antibiotics. He informed me he was never sent to a nurse. No one at the camp informed me of his condition.
