Great memories old and new!
This place is amazing. We came here for a week for Boy Scouts, and I got to drive a small boat, learn about environmental science, and also take a painting class. I enjoyed this a lot, and would definitely come again (hopefully next year)!
On the Camp Independence side, newer bathhouse with numerous single showers/bathroom combos and water bottle filling station, really nice hiking trails, permanent orienteering course, easy walk to the lake for aquatics, and latrines with running water at every campsite (not sure if that water is potable though as we brought a 5-gallon jug to sit at the campsite and filled up at the dining hall/water bottle filling station). Kids loved playing on the pirate ship and fort, and the camp staff is always helpful and amazing.
