My wife was looking for a solid wood countertop. Her search led her to California Countertops in La Mesa, CA. It was about a half hour drive (one hour round trip). We hit a little traffic, so the round trip ended up being closer to an hour and a half. Their website clearly said they offered a wide selection of fine wood. When we arrived, we noted that the business looked old and run down. It also appeared to be closed. Awesome place for solid surface countertops
After being upset wasting the entire day for service. The next day Tony was sent who totally saved the situation. He was very meticulous, resepectful, very easy to understand and get along with.
We did a $15,000 countertop installation using California Countertop in 2006-7. On the next project home we again used them but had to split the projects up. They did the kitchen countertop in 2014. They recently bid a backsplash (out of the same material they had initially steered me toward for the countertop). When I asked some detailed questions, they retracted their bid when I exposed some possible inconsistencies. They have no loyalty to their customer base.
