Not a lot of folks know how to work with carbon — Craig is one of them.
Yeti ASR-C frame, lower pivot point broke internally. They said they have fixed several and never had any issues or any break again. Sent frame in Sept, received a month later. Lower pivot bolt/spacer was in backwards but whatever, I reassembled my bike properly. Lower pivot point was broke again by June. Not even a full season out of it. Here are the two things I think you need to know: 1) my review of their repair was that very good work was done 2) they don't adequately insure return shipping and you expose yourself to serious risk My specific experience was that I sent Calfee a damaged Dogma F12 frame (orignal retail $6500). UPS asked me what value I wanted to insure the package to when I sent to Calfee. I decided that $5k was a reasonable replacement value. I love Calfee and what they do but they are just so extremely slow at fulfilling just basic part orders and do not respond very well.
I sent my Pinarello Grevil frame to Calfee for repair in November, received it back in February and got installed in March. Instead of Pinarello sign on one side of the frame I got Dogma. Really, look at the photo. On my question what to do Abraham and then Creig answered me that they could send me a shipping label. How is that? So I have to reassemble the bike, get box and packing, then wait and assemble it back? Because of their stupid mistake? Yes, I was said, no other options.
