This facility is very nice, there's no doubt about that. My dad was placed in the memory care wing of the facility, which is supposed to be safe and secure for dementia patients who are a "flight risk". Within two weeks, he had already climbed a fence and ran off. The only reason he was found was because a nurse was leaving her shift for the day and found him hiding behind a tree. The greatest thing about Calder Wood, Beaumont, for me, is the people. There are kind employees, and kind residents. I truly feel like I’m home and cannot imaging ever wanting to leave. There is never a time when I do not feel safe and any issue I might have is very quickly attended to by the staff.
