Amazing gelato! Good price, really nice place and happy staff - PERM CLOSED
Went in and realized that they were a middle of a refurbishment. No announcement on their website. I believe I talked to the owner (?) then but she sounded as if she didn't understand why someone came into the shop. Well, if you don't notify customers, this happens. A week or two later, someone I know went there as well and door was closed. NO NOTE whatsoever on the door. NO consideration to customers? Nice! What's the point of having website?
Every time I stop by Cake Envy I'm surprised there isn't a line out the door. The cheesecakes here are the best I've ever tasted. Not too too rich but definitely satisfying. I've tried a few flavors and they always knock them out of the park. Pro tip: get a scoop of gelato and an espresso and mush it all up in one bowl. Cheesecake + gelato + espresso. You're welcome :)
Went to First Friday today. Great to see people out wandering around and the various galleries (Pohl, Hopper, Marks Garage) and the stores open late. The Hawaii Theater always has people dressed to the nines and excited about some show. But right across the street is Cake Envy and a great spot to enjoy the best cheese cake or gelato. We didn't feel like dinner out, but I'm always ready for impossibly good desert. Amazing. Better than dinner any day.
