The tax office DID NOT CONTACT me as a reminder in February as they insist they did; or by phone OR otherwise prior to going directly to my bank for “garnishment” of “WAGES”. I AM NOT AN EMPLOYEE! They insist they mailed the CERTIFIED letter on May 28,2026. I received the CERTIFIED letter IN MY MAILBOX on June 23,2026! It had “CERTIFIED” printed on it! ONLY THEN, by opening and reading that CERTIFIED letter did I find out they charged me an additional $60 to “garnish my wages” (bank account). When I explained the circumstanc... read more
5 stars for honesty. I was billed 4949 for property tax that was paid back in October. It was a simple clerical error with a clerk at the county. I know this because Cabarrus County was honest enough to tell me. So, if you get a bill that is not really due, check back with your closing attorney so they can get the check number. The county will resolved it. Also, 5 stars for answering the phone very fast and humans talking to me. They were also professional. Errors happen. How you handle it says the most.
