My dad went to buy alcohol and we were denied service because I did not have physical ID, despite being 18 and presenting the cashier with my digital ID. There was a sign listing the forms of identification they accept, and one of them was digital ID. But, the cashier told us those were the Victorian laws. Why would you have a sign with Victorian laws regarding the purchase of alcohol? I wasn't even buying the alcohol, but we were refused because I touched the bottle. Absolutely absurd and it seems like a case of profiling.
