Butternut Manor is a lovely home. When you arrive at the front entrance you come in to a home that feels comfortable and a lot like home. The staff are welcoming and always willing to assist anyone when in need. The residents seem to be very happy and content. The fresh food served daily is tasty and plentiful. This really is such a wonderful home!!
Major flaws about this retirement home. The psws and nurses are great, however management leaves less to be desired. The manager has been known to hide resident on resident sexual assault and has been investigated by the RHRA. One look at the plague at the front desk (which states they hid the assaults) will ensure you will not want to return. Until the General Manager leaves, this place is NOT SAFE for residents. A beautiful peaceful place for my father's final 6 months. I thank everyone there who helped him.
We were providing a moving service in this facilities and found it very nice.
My son and I went to see his grandmother who was moved to Pallitive care. We were not told all the details of her situation. The night nurse told me that she only has a couple of days left and we should get in to say goodbye as soon as possible, like at 9am when visiting hours start. We arrived and the manager met us at the door and said firmly that we cannot see her as it is her request and the Essential Care Giver's to.
