When we were checking into the Inn a young woman named Vengeance was there to greet us. She was amazing, warm, friendly, and helpful. We were only staying over one night. Breakfast was included, which was fantastic. Unfortunately can’t remember the woman’s name, but she was friendly and accommodating. We got married at Buttermilk and we strongly recommend couples to look elsewhere. The ceremony location: There seems to be something wrong with the ceremony area by the Swan Pond—if you look at photos on Instagram, you’ll see tons of ceremonies held on dirt, in all seasons of the year. Wildly bad experience - booked the “pony pad” for an anniversary trip. First thing I noticed, everything was closed. No restaurant, no bar, very few staff. The grounds haven’t been kept up, construction projects were stopped in the middle of renovations. We were led to the room with zero explanation - because there was nothing to explain. We had a great weekend away from NYC. The property is beautiful and has so much potential. Renovations are underway at the indoor pool house although they appear to be on hold. We walked the property and it appears to be pretty vacant and understaffed. Nonetheless, the current staff did their very best and were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was made fresh and the waffles were so fluffy and delicious. My first sign of discomfort was the musty smell in the entryway. I found my welcome packet on the desk with my first and last name and room displayed on the front. I saw another guest’s packet there too; having my information displayed that way was a bit unnerving, especially as a solo female traveler. And the front door of the Inn is left unlocked all night.
