As a former client, I must express my serious concerns about my experience with this company. I found their practices to be misleading, unethical and borderline fraudulent. As a first time client, I was charged simply to attend a meeting to review my completed taxes while they solicited additional services to me. I would look elsewhere for CPA services. Long history of letdowns in my experience.
I had a really good experience with Burt & Co. The service is great and the prices are fair. The front desk staff are friendly, and my tax preparer, Olivia, very nice and easy to work with. I had to make a bunch of changes on my forms, but she stayed patient the whole time, answered all my questions really quickly, and even shared some kind words about my situation that felt very warm and supportive.
27Aug Update: Got a generic reply from Matt. I had 2 specific questions as relates to interest he didn't reply to, so, re-sent them in good faith in hopes I can get a thoughtful answer. In this whole process I had to learn, and redo the math, as a layman, that a CPA was supposed to get right the first time. We had our taxes done by Matt in 2019 and he showed we owed 3000 to the IRS. We paid by check. Two years later we received a letter stating that we didn't file our taxes. We called Matt back and he stated that they had a data breach and we had to file them manually, and we did that. We then received a letter from the IRS stating they found a mistake and we were owed 2700, but it's been passed 3 years so we were out of luck.
