We sadly lost one of our Oregon White Oaks to the wind and rain in January 2024. Matt and his team at Burl & Grain were our opportunity to turn our lemons into lemonade. We now have a dozen aged and kilned 4' wide live-edge slabs and lots of 8' lumber. So many possibilities! We highly recommend Burl & Grain because of their knowledge, responsiveness and willingness to patiently talk us through this complicated process.
I was searching the internet for a live edge bar top and happily found Burl and Grain. They are conveniently in the Portland metro area and are super easy to work with. They are professional and with great craftsmanship. We are very happy with the resulting work.
We were saddened to lose our beautiful Honey Locust in the January 2024 ice storm, but luckily it was not a complete loss. Burl and Grain was able to pick up the fallen trunk, mill it into slabs, age and kiln dry the wood, and then turn it into a beautiful live edge table. Now our tree gets to live on in a new form that will stay with us forever.
