We have a full art studio with classes, residents, open studio includes access to slab rollers, wheels, a personal shelf, and kiln time. One class in and I’m hooked. Burkhead provides a welcoming atmosphere to create and dabble in whatever inspires. It’s a judgement free zone where all are welcomed. I thoroughly recommend giving it a shot.
Excellent arts center, instruction, materials access. and community!
This place is a true gem! I took the intro to drawing class with Victor and I am currently enrolled in his watercolor class. Both excellent classes that I plan on continuing on taking if they’re offered next session. Victor includes art history elements in his classes and introduced us to many artist and their work. It was clear from the get go that Victor was not only a knowledgeable instructor but a very skilled and talented artist with years of experience. I took a beginners ceramics class in January. I enjoyed it so much I signed up again. The studio is so inviting, my teacher Rebecca is amazing. I highly recommend the Burkhead Art Center!
