Cold and wet weather makes me seek comfort in a bowl of congee. Do you know about this amazing simple dish? I wrote about it here. https://bullcityacupuncture.com/congee-a-healing-comfort-f…/

I thought this article was interesting. And while the research seems geared to the 75 and older crowd, you can see how gentle rhythmic movements (like walking, dancing, qi gong and taijichuan) can provide enormous benefit for both the mind and body. It seems a little can go a long way. https://www.bodyandsoul.com.au/…/9f7db110575c8c7cddb9ebb58b…

Happy Lunar New Year! We have entered into the a new 12 year cycle and the very beginnings of the Spring/Wood season, aka allergy time in NC. I know its still cold out, but the plants are waking up. This short article has some interesting facts about lunar new year traditions. https://mailchi.mp/31f77a3fadd8/happy-chinese-new-year-2020

For those of the very scientific persuasion, here is a bit of light reading. For the others, it appears that acupuncture may help delay the aging of the brain. https://journals.sagepub.com/…/abs/10.…/acupmed-2017-011577…

Here is a shocker. Quality matters. We are so far removed from the reality of our food that we need a study to state the obvious. Processed food drives unhealthy weight gain. https://www.npr.org/…/its-not-just-salt-sugar-fat-study-fin…
