They gave us an EV as their most affordable car, didn’t tell us it was EV or how to use. The charging port was broken on the vehicle and we were stranded on the coast of Oregon with no power in the car, and no answer from budget. We missed the wedding we were set to attend. When someone finally did pick up the phone, as we had to find a place with cell signal, we were told they would tow the vehicle for $350 fee and we were responsible for it. Terrible experience with miscommunication about adding a driver to the contract during a very stressful time, customer service has been awful to deal with, I am out $700 for a 2 day rental. I would recommend any other car rental place.
We had an accident while passing through Medford on vacation when another car hit us from behind at a red light. It was a very stressful and upsetting experience, but Matt from Budget went above and beyond to make everything easier. He handled everything calmly and professionally, helped us complete all the paperwork, arranged a replacement vehicle quickly, and got us back on the road with minimal delay. One star because of the super condescending woman "Michell" that works behind the counter with horrible customer service. She really needs some education on how to talk to people when they ask questions and not talk down to people like we're stupid. I like budget but that will be the last time I come to this location.
Very unfortunate experience. My family always uses Budget, but when I found myself in an emergency to get to family, I was turned away. I walked over to their competitor and was on the road in 15 minutes.
