2/26/26 - Updating the review to note that despite their public response to our initial review, Budget was absolutely no help and continues to be incredibly difficult to work with. We’ve called the Portland location approaching 15 times, left voicemails and cannot get a call back. We foolishly left our passports and children’s birth certificates in the rental vehicle. Rented a van to go from Maine to FL. First portion of the trip, night hits, none of the headlights work. And its snowing. Sure could have checked before hitting the road. But real safety hazard and how are they putting vehicles on the road that clearly havnt been inspected.

I had my vehicle for a week. Rented it in Bangor and returned it to Portland Jetport. The Bangor Airport was still closed due to the horrible crash there last Sunday night in the snow storm. So I decided to try my luck with flying out of Portland. I called Budget and they let me change my return to Portland at no extra charge. Thank You! The return process was as easy as I can remember. 1 minute!
