Who knew a rental company can just cancel your reservation without letting you or priceline know because they over booked themselves and ruin your daughter's birthday trip... causing you to call several other companies who had no availability... Decided we had no choice but to take our car and it broke down 30 minutes before our hotel after 5 hours of driving. So Thank you Budget rental. We are now stranded with no way to get home or to finish her birthday trip. 🤨
Just picked up the car today for a cross country road trip, I go to pack the car— a large SUV I specifically rented for its space— and the back driver’s side door doesn’t open at all. I make do and start my drive and notice that the engine oil change light is on. I’m quite literally traveling to take care of and spend time with my dad who is terminally ill, and now I have to wait for another location to open tomorrow to swap out the vehicle, unpack this one, re-pack that one, and hopefully continue on a SAFE roadtrip. It’s funny how rental companies charge you extra for returning a vehicle late, but if you bring it back early, you don’t get any credit or refund at all. 🤔 If you’re late, they immediately add fees to your account. But when you save them time by returning it early, somehow that doesn’t count for anything. The system definitely feels one-sided.

Made a reservation Friday to pick up a rental on Sunday for 12noon. When I arrived to pick up my rental office was closed.
