October 2025 Like one person said it is not even worth the one star, Booked in Halifax, not a problem, the man said it was all done and I paid for it. When I got to Toronto, to the Budget counter, they said that will be $750 deposit. Being a senior (75), had to be a credit card, I didn't have that much on my CC since I only had $1000 limit. My grandson offered to come and pay it but no it had to be my credit card. I had already paid for the car, and was not told at the time that there was a deposit. Horrible experience, didn't have the vehicle I booked, waited for an hour to get it and to be told the customer is always wrong and their website debit rules apparently don't mean anything. They don't accept debit like the website said. Basically don't believe anything the website says. Left me screwed last minute.
Returned a vehicle today and had amazing service. Was treated poorly after an accident by Enterprise. Switched over to Avis / Budget picked up at the airport and dropped off in Truro. Process was painless and almost enjoyable! Will only be using budget from now on and recommending them to others!
