Picked up our vehicle at Punta Gorda airport on 3/1/26. Had to wait over 2.5 hours in line with several very aggravated fellow customers. Was not a good start to our vacation. When we found our car in the parking lot we discovered the gas tank was under 1/4 tank and had to stop in the first town to fill up. When we returned the car and mentioned that we left more gas in the tank then it came with the attendant commented that he has told the boss several times but no one cares so he gave up trying.
Budget car rentals at Rhinelander are the best! They were quick, pleasant and made me feel like my business was appreciated! Athena, the agent at the desk was extremely helpful and made the experience a no fuss transaction. Thank you Athena and Budget!
At the time of pick-up, we were informed that we would be charged for a tank of gas. I'm sure it is their coverage so they aren't filling up all the vehicles, but it wasn't mentioned when I booked it. The guy explained the $91 would be refunded when we returned the vehicle with a full tank, so it wasn't a big deal. We returned the vehicle a day early with a full tank 2 weeks ago and have not yet been refunded the $91.
