Had an "uncofirmed" reservation which was the agent's fault and not theirs. Ended up ok with a good ride for a week.
I had a very frustrating experience with Budget Car Rentals in Asheville Airport. I made a booking well in advance via Expedia, but upon arrival, I was told there was a problem with my reservation — a mistake entirely on their end. Despite this being their error, the staff were completely unhelpful and dismissive. There was no attempt to resolve the issue. Terrible! The airport is under renovation and the rental car booths are in portables. Budget had 1 employee at their booth and well over 40 people in line. After waiting 45 minutes, the representative told me that the size of vehicle I had reserved months ago was not available. They literally had 3 vehicles left so I had to take what they gave me. Stay far away! I booked through Costco and was supposed to pay $378.78 for the week. A couple days after dropping off the car our credit card showed a charge of $689.43. The e-receipt showed that we accepted insurance and roadside assistance, which we did not do. I did e-check in and indicated I did not want those coverages, and when I went to the counter to get the keys they asked me again and I told them no. Be very careful. Take pictures of everything and make sure that you return the key to an attendant or the desk. Do not put it in the lockbox (like the signs tell you to do) or they will continue charging your card until they check their lock box. Even after they checked my car back in, they charged my car another $80. Then it will take you forever to get your money back
