Budget will rent you a car online, charge your credit card for it, send you a confirmation code by email, then have no car available when you arrive and not give a damn! I arrived at Budget to pick up my confirmed rental car after 24 hours of traveling, it was 10:30pm in a small city, and I was an hour's drive from home. I stood there a while just trying to keep myself from melting down. Had a reservation for a rental today, when I got there it wasn’t ready. Ok no problem but the woman working the desk clearly hated her job! Extremely unpleasant and had no answer for how much longer the SUV would take to be ready like we were bothering her to do her JOB! Then they called an hour and a half after I left to tell me it was final ready! Will never use budget again because that was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had! Don’t have a customer service job if you hate working with the public!
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!! On August 17th I returned my rental car early in the AM to their drop box. After returning the keys I realized I had left my phone in the vehicle and it was locked. The location wouldn't be open until 7AM, which if I waited I would have missed my flight. I have been trying now for 3 days to reach this location. The car I was given smelled like an ashtray and had a key fob with a dying battery. They did let me exchange the vehicle, which was an ordeal of its own as the manager left a recently hired employee at the desk by herself. This second car also had a key fob with a battery so low it actually did die on me. I had a long term rental, which they promised to call me to extend as I had already prepaid for all the days. UPDATE: Don’t let the fact that the gentleman below reached out fool you into thinking there was some kind of acceptable resolution offered. If I make a profile he will provide me with $50 towards a future rental. That doesn’t do me any good considering I will NEVER use Budget again. Worst company ever! I hesitated to reserve a car from them due to past experience and I should have listened to my instincts.
