UPDATE: After they left me stranded and tried to charge me extra for it (see below) I then find out Budget/Avis put me on their do not rent list. I only discovered this when I tried to rent from Avis and they denied my reservation yet still charged my card for the entire rental fee. DO NOT RENT FROM AVIS OR BUDGET. The rental car lady was awful. She was rude and very unhelpful. She was the lady with the glasses and the lazy eye. I do not recommend.
My husband's mom rented a car for my husband from Budget, and we drove 45 minutes to go pick it up. Once there, the attendant told us to come back (we were 20 minutes early) in about 30 minutes. He said they were currently cleaning cars. We came back half an hour later, and he said he still didn't have the keys. After a few minutes, he called someone, and then we were told there wasn't a car there for us. Since it was a 6:00 PM pickup, everywhere else in town was closed. I set up a rental in Nov 2025 for when my flight arrived at 10PM After getting off the plane and picking up my luggage I went to the Budget Rental counter but it was dark (no lights) and there wasn't anyone to speak with. I had to get a lyft from the airport to the hotel where I was staying.
