If I could give this Budget location (at the airport) zero stars I would. I reserved an undefined SUV for the balloon festival. The rental car was “reserved” starting at 10:30 pm on Oct 8. After waiting for the transportation bus to the car rental group and arriving at the Budget counter, everyone in line was informed that there were no cars left except for 12 passenger vans and electric trucks. Why is there only one person working and he seems to love to run his mouth despite a huge line?!?!
Our Infotainment system and navigation did not work for the duration of our trip. Furthermore we rented a nice Jeep Grand Cherokee L and were downgraded to a KIA, not shocking to see all the problems that occurred with such a terrible car brand. We were only offered $50 back on our rental which we were told is the maximum an office is able to refund. Understaffed and overbooked. The staff are hard working, but their volume is overwhelming when they're understaffed. Plan for a long wait. We reserved through CostcoTravel weeks ahead, but Budget increased our price by +40% when we got to the counter. While waiting at the counter we re-booked through Enterprise who had less wait, and only a 10% premium above our original reservation. Not the fault of the hardworking staff, but of the management and the ABQ franchise's ownership.
