Got in at 11:15pm 15 minutes early and things were going well! We had a prepaid reservation for Budget for 11:30pm. Budget closed at 12:15am. We showed up to the counter and there was no one there and a sign saying sold out. The counter was completely closed down. Tried calling Budget. No answer. We ended up having to take a $120 uber ride to our airbnb in Warren, VT and then a $100 ride back to the airport to try to get another car. Did we get a discount from Budget? Nope. Fastbreak, prepaid. 10 people in front of me. Took 90 minutes to pick up car that was unwashed and dirty inside with leftover garbage from the person before us. Not OK. Gives Budget a bad name.
We came in early October which is an obviously busy season for visitors. They had one woman checking in people. We've been in line for about an hour and a half and we still have a significant line in front of us.
I’m currently standing in line waiting for my prebooked budget car at btv airport in burlington. I’ve been waiting for 45min and looks like 30min to go. They have one person processing customers, 2 others who sit there staring at a computer screen. They have announced that they do not have any “clean cars” or any “filled with gas”. Enterprise line just as long, Hertz is no wait. Dont save a buck, dont book budget cars here.
Worst rental experience ever! They gave us a car with low tire pressure, and we had to stop at gas stations every couple of hours during our mountain trip just to refill it. When we tried to exchange the car, they made us wait in a long line for a problem that wasn’t our fault. We ended up missing our dinner plans because the restaurant had already closed. And to make it even worse, THEY CHARGED ME TWICE! Completely unacceptable and incredibly incompetent service. Never again. I would give a minus if possible!
