I do not recommend renting through this company for overcharging. We just dropped off a rental car around 8 or 9pm. It was driven to our house, 7 miles from the airport and driven to work, which is 19 miles, then back home and to the airport. It was an EV that we picked up with 93% battery and returned with 78% battery. Budget only charges when you return with under 70%, but our receipt shows refueling charges. Horrible check- in customer service at SRQ for budget car rental. Not enough staff working, and the ones that are working are extremely slow. I waited well over 30 minutes in the fast brake line. When I got to the counter, the lady didn’t even look at me. Very outdated process to get your vehicle. Please speed up process!

This rental experience has been a nightmare. Started bad and only got worse from there. We rented a standard SUV through the budget app. Upon arrival there was no such SUV and we were offered a truck. We are a family of four with luggage and needed an SUV, not a truck. After back and forth we were offered a “luxury” SUV at an additional cost per day to us. Left feeling like we had no choice at 11:30 p.m., we reluctantly took it. HORRIBLE! If I could give negative stars I would. They gave us a car with no air conditioning. We returned it and got a new one with absolutely no discount or apologies. And then TWO MONTHS after returning the second vehicle we get told we owe almost 4k in damages. We have called them about this about 10 times and they assured us we don’t owe anything and yet we still get an email or snail mail about this every couple of weeks. FIX IT BUDGET!

Worst customer service ever! We reserved a minivan at SRQ. Upon arriving - the representative at the counter completely ignored us for 5 minutes while he talked to one of the female airport handlers. We then asked if he was available and he reluctantly called us up to the counter. We were then told that the minivan that we reserved had been recalled as were all the minivans and that the only car available was a Volkswagen Tiguan.
