Terrible experience waited 3 hours just to get to the desk and then they try to give me a 2 seater convertible while I had a 7 month old baby with me and my wife. Then they gave me a Nissan rogue after another 2 hours of complaining and then saying they have no cars, which was nice but the tire sensor was on when I got it and they charged me for it after I returned it over $80. Would never use any budget again after this experience.
The price is the only reason for any stars. Unless you're flying into Tampa Airport, trying to get to Budget to rent a car is awful. Called all different people at Budget trying to get directions to the counter to get my rental. NOBODY at Budget can explain other than telling you the address which you can NOT drive to. You cannot call anyone at the couter in Tampa, only clueless customer service. I live here and they're the cheapest to rent vehicles from but the headache & runaround isn't really worth it.
There's a $200 deposit to be returned after returning the Car plu the "discount" for upgrading to a larger vehicle cost $200.00. Not impressed.
The clerk at the counter indicated that my car had an EZ Pass toll reader, but he DID NOT indicate that this was an optional service which I would be charged $13.49/per day to activate - this added $65 to my 4 day rental. I went through exactly one toll for $1.25 which I assumed I would just be added to my bill and that the installed EZ Pass was a convenience for me to use. Beware of this shady practice and make sure you confirm that the clerk at the counter isn't applying any "optional add-ons" that you don't need.
More lines then any other service with HALF the staff. Their pre-checkin line is closed. Employees are slow. Second time I've tried this place and will never book here again. Missed over an hour to start off my vacation because of this poor management.
