#5 for 800 Customer Service #1 for local management --- 3 Stars BEWARE... This location provided a Volvo (great car) that was filled with empty water bottles and trash. When I returned it to the lot there was no available parking so I asked the attendant on the scene where to park, and he told me to place it in a walkway but leave the keys in it and the receipt for mileage and gas. I was charged for an additional day ($189) and fuel charge ($18). I called Budget customer service and the charges were removed and credited. I ... read more
car was ok, but had no gas in it. I was told to return it with no gas. I returned it with a quarter tank and still got charged over 160 dollars for refill cost. National took the charges off but this is no way to run a business.
My brother flew into NYC to visit friends for a birthday party and rented a car so he could get around the city and return it to the airport afterward. He booked and paid in full in advance for a specific car or similar vehicle, but unfortunately, they did not honor the reservation as expected. We were told they were overbooked and that there weren’t many options available. The quality of car has never been great but the last car we drove was the worst. Broke down as I was driving and I risked my life. Never ever again will I use this company. They don’t check their cars and you can risk your life.
Extremely disappointing experience with this Budget location. I was already having a rough day — my flight had lost my luggage, so I was left with only what I was wearing and my wallet, and I was rushing to make it to a wedding. I had a paid prebooked rental. Despite explaining my situation, the staff didn't record any of the existing damage on the car before I drove off, and the car itself was dirty inside.
