The reason that this is a one star is that I can't give it zero. We arrived exactly on time for our booking (18/10/2025), and waited THREE HOURS to be given our keys. The staff made several claims around understaffing and a "lack of cars". I find this to be a completely unnaceptable excuse, as I had booked well in advance. I cannot understand how a business can be operated so poorly, but it was. Wir haben ein Fahrzeug gebucht, bei der Ankunft wurde die Wartezeit unerträglich lange 3 std bis wir ein Auto bekommen hatten. Grund war aufgrund der Überbuchung seitens Budget waren keine Fahrzeuge mehr verfügbar! Erst nach langem warten haben wir ein Auto erhalten aber nicht mal, dass in der Kategorie für welches man bezahlt hat. Einziger Pluspunkt war das die Mitarbeiter freundlich waren und wir am nächsten Tag das Auto gegen eines in der passenden Kategorie wechseln konnten.

I forgot Budget is part of Avis and made a mistake booking it. I received text indicating that my car is ready and go to A3 area and pick any car. There were no cars available at any budget space. No counter for Fastbreak customers, no one around and there was only 1 agent at regular counter. There were about 10 people in front of me. Luckly my coworker stayed at A3 area and he grabbed Avis person and got a car from Avis. Here at 8:30 pm in Houston. Hours state they are open until midnight. Called customer service, “there is nothing i can do to help, try waiting 15-20 minutes” finally a lady came over to us and told us to wait in the giant “Avis” line. Never booking with Budget again.

Do not recommend. Long line with only 2-3 agents. We flew in to IAH on October 18 and the worst part of the day was that we had a pre confirmed booking. However, upon arrival we learnt that the long line was due to low inventory of cars. Budget was literally praying and waiting for other customers to return their cars to be able to attend to their customers in line with reservations.
