The Carlinville Orchard, consisting of 123 acres, was established in 1920 by Leonard Sooy. The orchard remained in the Sooy family until 1968 when it was purchased by William and Joan Broom. William's father, William Stanford Broom, started growing apples in Marion County in 1920. The orchard to go to for peaches, apples, plums, pears. Always great tasting fruit. We go there every year.

The best peaches I've had in a long time. Lots of varieties of apples and peaches. A great little store. The zesta apples are my favorite. They even have dog treats. A great orchard.
Always the freshest produce and friendliest staff. And there's stuff to do for the kids.
We have never been to Brooms orchard before and we drove an hour to get there. The ladies we encountered were not friendly. We were looking to buy a 1/2 bushel of peaches and were scolded harshly and told we were not allowed to touch the peaches. I tried to explain why we wanted to take a closer look because we had bought Calhoun peaches already bagged up and each bag had rotting peaches at the bottom but I was cut off and again yelled at saying she just boxed them that morning and don’t touch them because we would bruise th... read more
