Just came out of this shop. The woman that greeted me was lovely and trying to work within my budget for a jacket and shirt. Walked me around a bit. Then they took my neck and chest measurements and the manager spewed the words that guys like me hate hearing, “oh we don’t even carry your size here. You’ll have to go to our outlet.” I am a human size, and fit in a normal XL shirt. Obviously not their fault that they don’t carry a larger size…one star for Brooks Brothers as a company. Customer service in retail, has died. Gone are the Brooks associates with tape measures around their necks. The style suggestions, the friendly smiles. That’s over. Now you have to introduce yourself to the staff if you need something, and prepare to accommodate their needs. Still the best place to go when you need a hundred dollar tie.
Brooks Brothers in Town Center Virginia Beach is one of my favorite place to go shopping. I started shopping at Brooks Brothers in 2008 when they came to Town Center. In 2008 the women’s section was amazing and large at Brooks Brothers with some great time pieces. Now Brooks Brothers has reduced the store size. Brooks Brothers reduced the women’s section tremendously to a tiny space, which is disappointing. I love the quality of Brooks Brothers clothes. I've been shopping around for a suit for my wedding and the staff here was so friendly and understanding. It's somewhat stressful to pick out the perfect suit and I made multiple visits to try on different items. Despite my indecision they never rushed me or tried to push something on me. Antonio especially was awesome, he spent so much time helping me find the perfect fit and ran all over the store to give me different options and even took pictures so I could share with my fiance to get her opinion.
