Clean and Safe Bridgewater has a bad reputation due to events that have happened in the past. The facility is under new ownership and has undergone extensive renovations. Those who do take a tour are pleasantly surprised by what they see. The facility has a yearly review by New York State like all other facilities in the area and does very well (available for review). Bridgewater Center - Setting the Record Straight As the administrator of Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, I am stunned that Judith S. is allowed to print her libelous comments. There is no truth to them. In the very month that Judith S. recorded her comments, the NY State Department of Health inspected all aspects of this nursing home and found things in such a good state of compliance that there was no need for a return visit for a year. Bridgewater Center For Rehab is A Slum i have two family members at this facility currently and have had others there in the past. i agree with the Judith S. The place it disgusting, it smells bad all the time, it's really filthy and the residents do not get adaquate care. my aunt was put there for rehab purposes. she has only had 1 or 2 physical therapy sessions in the last year. when we ask why we get the usual understaffed explanation. now as a result of not getting the therapy, she can no longer walk and is loosing the a... read more
Bridgewater Center For Rehab, A Deathtrap I can state without a doubt that Bridgewater Center is NOT a caring rehab center. If you love your relatives than don't send them here. I know this because I lived here with my wife for eighteen months. During that time she got sick several times and was sent to the hospital with infections. The staff was so uncaring that I had to call the ambulance myself. The nurses refused to send her even when she had a fever.
Rivermede New Management Since August, 2006, Rivermede (Bridgewater) is under the care of a new highly skilled, experienced and caring administrator who is making sweeping changes in policy, attention to resident care including openness to family concerns, condition of the facility, training of staff, and overall operations. No good please do not put your family members here. it is very unsanitary. i agree with judith s. something should really be done.
Do not go there or send loved ones there! This place is awful! My father went here after we were promised by the discharging hospital that is was a rehab facility and he would be on a rehab floor, all lies. He was put in with nursing home patients, the room was filthy with stale air and water stains on the ceiling. The "beds" are no more than 1" thick, the reclining chairs they give some residents are ancient and not even the aides knew how to work them. Unsuitable housing for the Disabled and Elderly This Center has changed hands several times but has not changed in their care practices thoughout the years. Senior Citizens and disabled adults are housed here and are left to fend for themselves without supervision. Living in this unstable and dangerous place is not good and as an example I know first hand that medications including narcotics are distributed to residents by employees who are not licensed nurses but plain old people they hired right off the street to work at t... read more
