Such a lovely place! The interior is decorated with antiques. There is a nice, big dining area on the main floor where residents can dine together. There is also an option to have meals brought up to a resident's apartment. Meals can be made to specific dietary needs. The staff is friendly and helpful. The establishment is very clean. The Bret Harte is unique. My parents have lived there four years, and I have continually been amazed at the owner’s management and heart. The price is about a fourth what most places charge. I’m so grateful we found the Bret Harte.

I personally know the owners of Bret Harte and I know that Patti really loves her guests and gives 110% of herself to make them comfortable and happy. This place is her life and it shows in the compassion she has for everyone there, staff and guests alike.

This is a wonderful place for mom or dad. My 93 you mother lived her for 2 years. They are very compassionate and understanding. Great location right downtown. Reasonably priced compared to the competition. I would highly recommend the Bret Harte !

I play music at the Bret Harte to entertain the residents. From my interaction there I can tell the owner/manager Patti really cares and works hard to keep the operation up to a high standard for everyone.
