We arrived and after the security check up we were checked in and were asked about symptoms etc. And our vitals were taken. Regular procedure. Then we were told to sit and wait, meanwhile someone comes and gets your insurance information. After that everything moves pretty quick. For us there wasnt much wait at all. Wish I could give 0 stars. After years of visiting this hospital. We have had it! My partner suffers from a condition called SMAS a vascular compression. If you use cannabis or alcohol in any form, the doctors at this hospital will torture you. My partner and I arrived at the ER at 5:30 am. I’m currently writing this at 9:30, still in a room awaiting treatment and actual help. There was absolutely no one at the hospital when we arrived. I gave the hospital 5 stars, because it did exactly what a hospital is supposed to do. My family and I were visiting the area from Tennessee, when one night my elderly mother began having severe chest pains. We took her straight to the closest emergency room which was at Parrish Medical Center. Yes, the ER was busy and full of people, but the staff made sure to take my mom immediately into a room and perform an ekg test to assess her chest pain. Worst we I've ever been to. People throwing up in the lobby . They don't have rooms for anyone. Sending people out into the lobby with ivs. Been waiting just over 3 hrs now to be seen for an infection 3!inches away from my brain. absolutely the most money hungry understaffed medical facility I've ever been to. And I've used the VA.
Wish I could give zero stars. I took my husband to the ER for the second time for abdominal pain a couple days ago. His pain is severe. He can hardly move. The tests were "all negative" and he was sent on his way. The nurses were great. The physician's assistant lacked any bedside manner and accused my husband of being disappointed that nothing was wrong. My husband asked for more tests to be performed but they would not do it.
