I agree with all of the comments this insurance does not care about their members safety and well being. They trick you into signing up for their plans by saying they cover all services mass health covers. When you switch over they don’t approve it saying you don’t need the procedure. It’s a regular bate and switch. Went back to mass health and got the procedure I needed.
This insurance is the worst. They are professional and unpleasant. They care more about profit than keeping their members safe. They take funding from Medicaid and Medicare along with private funds and they don't approve procedures and will do anything not to cover it which leaves their members health in jeopardy. No one a lot of place no are long accepting this insurance. The commissioner of insurance, attorney general insurance, should look into their business practices.
I had WellSense through MassHealth when I ran into a period of need in my life. Once I got my feet back under me I switched to a self pay plan. I thought this would offer me seamless coverage. My PCP made an appointment for me with a specialist at the community hospital that is affiliated with their office. My PCP office has always handled getting approval for referrals and making appointments for me. I saw the specialist and he was wonderful.
