"My family and I absolutely love coming to Boekel Zoo here in Princeton! It is such a great local spot-the kids really enjoy getting to go through and interact with all the different animals, and it makes every visit a fun experience. The owner, Lori, is so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable; she's always happy to answer any questions we have. I was so excited to visit a pet store. The condition of this establishment was horrendous. The caged duck had no room to move. The aquariums were murky. The smell was horrible. Please do better for these animals.
I'm just gonna list what's wrong with this place. 1. Keeping bettas in vases 2. Not providing enough room for snakes to move. 3. Providing rodents inadequate housing and DANGEROUS wheels/toys for rodents (barred wheels, housing rats in tanks, overcrowding of tanks for ALL animals, mainly fish and rodents, poor enrichment practices when it comes to other animals. I have been here multiple times, bout a few reptiles from Lori and have never had a bad experience at all. This store takes pride in customer service and all of their pets! If you are looking for something that they do not have, definitely talk to Lori as chances are she can get it! Highly recommend!
What an awesome experience! We were visiting from out of state and stumbled across this store. The owner is so knowledgeable and friendly. The kids got to learn about sun conures, get their pictures taken with one, and they got a coupon for a free ice cream next door. We had so much fun exploring all the animals and talking to the parrots. Definitely stop by if you're in the area!
