I was at the branch for my business account at BMO on Cambie, when I considered getting a mortage pre-approval. The mortgage representative Luke Lee I dealt with was very unprofessional. After providing the requested documents, even after I followed up 2 weeks later I did not hear back. That was back on September 22nd, and now it's November 4th when I just remembered I even applied with them, since they just completely ignored me. Unhelpful customer service I visited the branch to ask about receiving a wire transfer from overseas. The teller told me the bank has no limit, but she wasn’t sure about government restrictions. When I asked where I could find out more details, she simply said she didn’t know and offered no guidance or resources. It felt dismissive and unhelpful—I expected at least a referral or suggestion on where to get accurate information.

Every single time we visit the BMO on Cambie, the experience is disappointing. There’s a lady near the front who is consistently unpleasant and unwelcoming. She never smiles, makes no effort to be approachable, and even when assisting clients, she comes across as cold and unhelpful. At times, it even seems as if she’s looking down on you, which makes the interaction feel even worse. I am deeply disappointed with the services I received, or let's just say I didn't receive them. I had an appointment with Linus to increase my line of credit. I provided the documents, and what was missing was provided the very next day. This was on December 12th. I was told it will take 2 weeks max. I have asked for an update 3 times. My partner and I were looking for a mortgage pre-approval and was recommended a contact at this branch under the impression that he was a mortgage specialist. He asked minimal questions, did not request any forms, and didn't tell us any rates. As this was our first experience with getting a pre-approval, we thought this was normal.
