This bank has really gone downhill. I’ve been a loyal customer of the original Bank of Lancaster for over 25 years, and it’s disappointing to see what it has become. There’s only one branch open on Saturdays — and it doesn’t even open on time. The ATMs are outdated, and they’ve removed the one that allowed deposits, forcing customers to use a drop box instead. Most of the staff is friendly enough to your face. Which I would expect in a small town where most people know each other. Whomever is handling the mortgage escrow accounts seems to be incompetent. Before they were Blue Ridge my mother had a tax check issued from her escrow account. They didn’t even wait for her tax return to be filed or for final amount. They sent the bank check from the escrow account to the IRS for an amount I don’t even know how they figured up, with absolutely nothing noted in the memo line of the check... read more

If you are looking for a local bank to serve you well in Kilmarnock keep on looking away from Blue Ridge; recently handled a loan application for me and after the sale fell through the bank exhausted themselves to come up with every fee possible to charge me for a loan never granted...........very poor treatment of an outsider like me who only wanted to be part of a local community.........the bank should be ashame of itself but I know they are not..............
