We purchased a Floral Ellipse Diamond Cathedral ring (14k rose gold, 1/3 ct) from Blue Nile in July 2025, paying €3,613 plus over €700 in import taxes to Malta via UPS. Worst experience ever. Their fraud detection system would not let me complete purchase even after bank verification of funds. I’ll never do business with them again. Update: Then they give this lame reply about contacting their showroom and how eager they are to help. Clown shoes. I was in their showroom when this happened, so this response is lame. Working with Sadhbh N on the customer service team was an absolute pleasure. Our conversation consisted of fairly complex questions (regarding shipping to/from another country for servicing, etc.) and a decently large ask, across several chat sessions. Sadhbh remembered the context in each and provided diligent, thoughtful responses which made the purchase and delivery process seamless. It was an excellent experience.
Awful experience! They lost my 20k ring for over 24 hours, and nothing happened how it was supposed to. When they took my ring to send it to get soldering together, they put it in a plastic bag to send out. A plastic bag?! Each phone conversation was with incompetent after incompetent person. Messages weren’t responded to, after promises they would be. Terrible experience and processes! Never again.
My wedding band was with Blue Nile for months for a repair (first time in 18 years that a repair/resize was needed). Once I finally got it back one of the stones popped out of the setting 2 months later. In 18 years of regular daily wear, nothing like this had ever happened before, and I firmly believe it was due to a poor initial repair job.
