In an unfortunate situation, I was hospitalized with a perforated diverticulitis. This required emergency surgery and fortunately, I had insurance that covered nearly everything except for the surgeon. He was not in network, but, this was an emergency. He discounted his bill tremendously and for that I was very grateful. I forgot (unintentionally) to pay my monthly fee and the account was turned over to this horrible collection agency.
