I won a "consolation prize" of a free furnace and AC tune-up from Blind & Sons during a contest at WNIR's radio. The tech came out on May 28 and asked if we could only do the AC tune up (he said it was going to be too hot in my attic to work on the furnace and he had a busy day ahead of him). He completed the job in 90 minutes and said that the AC unit was old but in great condition. He recommended I schedule a free estimate for a new furnace and AC because they had great rebates going on right now. Fast forward 3-4 hours and my AC unit will not turn on. I look at the unit outside, find screws laying on the cement slab, notice a panel on the unit has a pinched lip, and is not seated correctly. I called their service line, was told my tech is off for the day but she will dispatch the on-call tech immediately. Five hours later, I still hadn't heard from anyone at the company, so I called the service line to see when they will be out. Twice in a row, as soon as I said my name, they hang up. The third person answers and says "No one has called you yet?" She then apologizes, lets me know how busy they were today, and informs me a tech will call as soon as possible to let me know when he will be out to my house. I have now been without AC for over 21 hours (house sits at a toasty 85 degrees), and there has been zero communication from Blind & Sons. It's safe to assume Blind & Sons has chosen to enjoy their Memorial Day weekend, rather than fixing the damage their tech has caused. On the bright side, I got to relive what it was like growing up in the 80's before my family got AC. On the super disappointing side, I have to either cancel, or move the cookout from my house to another family member. Blind & Sons website touts a "100% satisfaction guarantee;" to date, I've only experienced incompetent techs and disinterested customer service reps.

We have used the services of Blind and Sons for many years from gas line replacement to annual service checks on our HVAC systems. Recently, our service check showed a problem with our air conditioner system. It was and is working but a failure is not too far away. My wife and I had been talking about some upgrade for the HVAC and the water heater. Those systems are 17 and 16 years old. We booked an appointment to find out what is available and how efficient new units would be. Thanks to Ben, the service tech for finding the problem. Thanks to Anthony, the sales rep for the information we needed and his ability to get work scheduled very quickly. With new heating and air conditioning units being installed, we also wanted to have the ducts cleaned. No problem. They sent Adam (#871) 2 days later to take care of the ducts. Adam worked very hard and did a great job by himself. We thought that the scope of the job would require two techs but Adam handled it very well. Gene McCarty, Kent.

Sewer backup in our basement drain prompted us to call Blind & Sons for help. My husband made an online appointment (a 10% savings) and the next morning, Ernie Kuryl arrived right on time, ready to get to work. He had to snake the drain from the first floor toilet out 20' into the front yard, where he broke up a tree root obstruction. Then he reinstalled the toilet with a new gasket. His work was excellent, and every step of the way he cleaned up after himself. Ernie was curteous, professional and very willing to answer questions. Before leaving, we had him install a new garbage disposer. We felt that the prices quoted for both jobs were very reasonable, and we would not hesitate to use Blind & Sons again!

We have used Blind and Sons for years for a variety of repairs and have always been pleased with their work. They are very knowledgable about a variety of topics and work is done efficiently. They clean up after and are respectful of the property.
