My mom lived at Blakey Hall until she passed away. The care she received from the staff was excellent and it felt as if we were leaving extended family. Mom commented more than once that the food was good and her room was kept clean. Before she moved in, I visited three other facilities in the area and read the inspection report on all four from DHHS. I am convinced the best one was selected. About six months ago my brothers and I had to move our 91-year-old mother to an assisted-living facility. We checked several around Alamance County before deciding on Blakey Hall. We’re glad we made the choice we made. The staff and residents are friendly, and have been supportive of our mother. Ed and members of his staff are to be commended for the work they do in a job that’s anything but easy.

My husband and I moved to the Hamlet from PA to be closer to our daughter a year and 1/2 ago. It has been a better experience than anticipated. Our cottage is very comfortable and the food in the dining room very good. The employees are exceptional: maintenance, activities, housekeeping, food service. It is a close-knit caring community and we feel fortunate to be a part of it.

As a regular volunteer at this facility, it is one of the nicest senior living facilities we visit. The residents rave about their caregivers and even know the upper administration and engage in friendly conversation on a first name basis. To me this is what a home away from home should look like. From independent living options to full dementia care, this facility is one of our favorites to visit.
